Finance Manager (Ealing)

24 hours per week, flexible
£30,000-35,000 pro rata dependent upon qualifications and experience

ECT Charity is a leading provider of local community transport. It is both a charity and a social enterprise, combining business thinking with social values to deliver the highest quality transport services that provide the greatest social benefit for the communities we serve. We are looking to recruit a finance manager to assist the Head of Finance in all aspects of financial reporting and accounting. This is a part time role with the potential to grow and develop over time as we expand.

Key Responsibilities will include:

1. Assistance in the preparation and analysis of periodic financial information including:

• monthly management accounts
• budgets
• forecasts
• cash flow
• variance analysis and commentary

2. Assistance with quarterly VAT returns.

3. Assistance with payroll management.

4. Assistance with day to day Treasury Management including maintenance of bank accounts.

5. Supporting the Head of Finance with annual audit preparations and tender budgeting as and when necessary.

The successful candidate for this position must:

• be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (very strong part qualified accountants will also be considered),
• have a good working knowledge of Sage Line 50,
• be proficient in the creation and use of Excel spreadsheets,
• have experience of both management and statutory account preparation,
• be diligent, accurate and highly organised,
• be prepared to be flexible in the range and nature of duties carried out.

Other requirements which would be desirable but are not essential are:

• previous Charities experience,
• knowledge of SORP
• knowledge of Charity VAT accounting.

Our Passenger Assistants provide a vital service, supporting our customers to and from the vehicle, and assisting during the journey.  Much of the work relates to home to school journeys, and needs an ability to deal with pupils with special educational needs.  Please note that we don't currently have any full-time vacancies, however we're always happy to consider applications for casual roles.
